It's 30 Degrees Outside And The Mailman Finds Little Boy Shivering On The Front Porch
By Mike-Ross

As children, we all have people we look up to and jobs we aspire to have one day. Such is the case of Emily Giese's 4-year-old nephew, Logan.
When Logan grows up, he wants to be a mailman. Everything about the mail fascinates the young boy - how often it comes, how you get to unwrap it and the cool outfits the mailman wears on his daily route! For Logan, there's no better job in the world.
Everyday, Logan waits on the front porch for his mailman to drop off the letters, packages and notices to his house. But when the postman ran late one day, Logan's persistence didn't waiver....
Instead of waiting inside and staying warm on the 30-degree day, Logan opted to sit on the porch in his United State Postal Service hat and thin T-shirt.

When Logan's mailman, Wes Winter, finally stopped by the house, he was shocked by the little boy waiting patiently for him on the porch. Wes handed over the mail and gave Logan a pat on the back - and just a few days later, Wes stopped back with something amazing for his young fan.
Emily shared what Mailman Wes did for her nephew with the Love What Matters Facebook page:
"Hello Little Mailman,
Sorry I'm typing this, I'm afraid if I wrote it by hand you'd never be able to read it. I only met you once. It was cold outside and I was running late. You were sitting on the porch waiting for me to come around. You were wearing a tee-shirt and USPS baseball cap and it was probably 30 degrees, but you didn't care, you just wanted to see the mailman."

"I don't know why, but it meant a lot to me, little dude.
Today is my last day delivering mail. I really enjoyed it, but I went to school for something else and I found a job that fits me better. And there's always a chance I'll be back. Life's funny that way. There's a job called a Postal Inspector that I'm really interested in, but they don't hire people too often. It's like being a policeman, but for letters and packages. I promise you'll be the first one I tell if I get that job!
Anyway, I just wanted to give you a gift so you don't freeze the next time you're waiting for the next regular mailman to make his way around the block.
And don't worry if you decide it's not what you want to do when you grow up. I haven't been working that long and I've already been a mailman, a mechanic, a cashier and a carpenter. Just find your thing and don't lose the spark.
From your #1 fan,
Wes Winter"
Wes presented Logan with an official USPS winter hat. The warm lining will hopefully keep Logan toasty while he's waiting for the new postman to pull up to the house!

Although it a small gesture in Wes' eyes, it meant the world to Logan. Hopefully he grows up to be just as kind as the generous mailman.
