Back in 1965, the Righteous Brothers hit “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” skyrocketed up the charts until it topped out at #1. The song was a hit no matter how you looked at it. And because of the song, the talented duo quickly won worldwide stardom and fame. Everyone from Galveston to Tokyo was singing this song back in the ‘60s.

While the ‘60s were filled with a lot of good music, the Righteous Brothers made their mark among the noise. Besides “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”, they had other hits throughout the decade. These included “Unchained Melody” and “(You’re My) Soul & Inspiration.”
However, “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” retains a special place in the hearts for millions of Americans – especially for those fortunate enough to live while this song was on topping the charts.
This song used Phil Spector’s “wall of sound” and produces a unique style that went on to distinguish the Righteous Brothers from the others. Spector was a music produce who found the group in 1964.
Take a listen to the song below. More than 860,000 people have listened to this track since it was uploaded to YouTube, and hundreds have left comments. Here are a few of the most popular.

Rich Mond wrote, “Music was so much more sophisticated in the past, now you’re lucky to get more than two different notes in a pop song.”
Rachel Burke praises this song and the group, “I LOVE The Righteous Brothers. ..and beyond! To me, their voices have yet to be equaled. Before my time, but no mixing mics…just pure talent. My only REAL concern, is WHY DID they make them stand on such tiny tables? Singers fall off entire stages, these poor guys get an end table!”
“What a wonderful song, just like “unchained melody”! We´ll never forget the Righteous Brothers!!!” wrote Maria Weiss.
“In 1965 I was 12 years old. I was just opening my ears to the music world! This was sure a tune that got my attention! And it continues to be a great sound today. The RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS WILL LIVE ON IN THEIR MUSIC! Thanks for sharing this one!” wrote Godtouchus.
According to BMI, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” is the most played song on American television and radio in the 20th century. By the end of 1999, the song earned more than 8 million air plays. Few artists are able to reach those heights.
