When Jeni Stepien got engaged, she daydreamed of her father being able to walk her down the aisle. Unfortunately for Jeni, her father was murdered 10 years ago - which meant that she was going to have to find someone else to guide her on the most important day in her life.
Months before her wedding, she got a bright idea! As an organ donor, Jeni knew her father's heart was out there beating in another lucky person. She reached out to the man who received her father's heart, an older gentleman named Arthur Thomas, and asked him something surprising: would he want to walk her down the aisle? Even though her father couldn't be there as himself, at least his heart could help her take the first steps toward marriage!
Arthur happily agreed and even showed up for the rehearsal! This was the most meaningful thing anyone had done for her - Jeni couldn't help but to break out into tears and reach for his chest! But, on the day of the wedding, Jeni and Arthur were able to keep their emotions in check and walked down the aisle flawlessly. Every heartbeat was reassurance that she had done the right thing.
