She Opens Gift, Finds Out She’ll Be A Grandma. Then They Hand Her An Even Bigger Surprise

While her mom was at work, Laura Dell decided to stop in and give her a surprise. While it was not uncommon for Laura to stop in and meet her mom for lunch or other little things, this time she had a big surprise for her mom.
After hugging, Laura gave her mom, Sharon Bloomingdale, a giftwrapped package. The woman dug right in – and that’s when her world gets turned upside down…
Dell filmed the 1-minute encounter and uploaded Sharon’s priceless response to Facebook, where it has quickly gone viral thousands of times over.

Before long, Sharon unwraps the packaging. Then she sees that it is a baby’s onesie! What a special way to tell her that she is going to be a grandma!
Judging by the look on Sharon’s face, she can’t be happier to know that she is going to have another little baby in the family to take care of.
The expectant grandmother is totally overcome with emotion.
Laura shared the video on social media and added the following note:
“My husband and I had been in the adoption process for about a year. My mom, who is adopted herself, knew that we were home study approved. She had no idea, though, that we had been matched, let alone that we had been placed. Needless to say, she received the shock of her life that day as she met her first grandbaby! She thought she was just getting an anniversary present. PS – the onesie says ‘Grandma’s Little Girl'”
Although Sharon knew that her daughter and son-in-law wanted to adopt a child, she did not know how close they were to getting all the paperwork completed.
They’d finished what they could. Now they just needed to wait to be matched.
And faster than they could have imagined, it happened! They were blessed to have a 4-month-old baby Ellie to join their family. And they couldn’t wait to tell grandma!
Only a handful of moments in life are big enough to change everything. Becoming a grandparent is one of those.
And right after Laura surprised her mother with the news that she has become a grandma, they delivered a second surprise.
“Come meet your granddaughter,” Laura says in the video clip. Then she leads the new grandma out into the lobby. And there she gets the surprise of a lifetime.
Laura’s husband walks out with Ellie in a car seat.
Grandma cannot contain her excitement and joy!
“Mom, sit down on the couch so you don’t pass out,” Laura says.
