DIY Cookie Cutter Ornaments. When You See #8, You'll Be Impressed!

While store-bought ornaments look nice, it's the handmade ones that are always our favorites.  Here are some unique ways that you can use cookie cutters to make your own ornaments at home. The best part? Every time you and your family see them hanging on the tree, you'll think back on the time spent together making them. Click on the links below each image for more detailed instructions.

1. Peppermint Melts

Hello Homebody

Make sure you use metal cookie cutters.

2. Edible Birdseed Ornaments

Saltwater-Kids

These are a festive way to feed the birds outside your house by turning any tree into a Christmas tree.

3. Stenciled Wood Ornaments

The 36th Avenue

Use your cookie cutters as stencils to trace lovely holiday designs onto wood circles.

4. Cookie Cutter Ornaments

A Night Owl

Seems too easy, right? Simply wrap the outside of a cookie cutter in decorative holiday paper and you have a fun new ornament.

5. Mini Mittens

Mega Crafty

Stuff mitten-shaped cookie cutters with wool. Felting needles work great for holding the shape together. Unfortunately, these aren't good at warming up actual hands.

6. Melted Beads

Meet The Dubiens

Once again, fill metal cookie cutters with colorful beads, pop them in the oven and watch what they become. They never turn out the same way twice!

7. Twine-Wrapped Ornaments

Adventures Of A DIY Mom

Wrapping twine around the edges of these cookie cutters gives them an old-school, rustic look.

8. Traced Paper Ornaments

It’s A Stamp Thing

Use cookie cutters to trace shapes on your favorite holiday paper and use card stock to make it sturdy. From there, decorate it with as much Christmas cheer as you can fit.

9. Christmas Scene Ornaments

Sugar Bee Crafts

Create a background on a cookie cutter using paper and card stock, then add in whatever miniatures you'd like to make a fun winter scene.
