Dawn McCombs and her husband Aaron were enjoying the annual Village Christmas Parade in Milford Center in Union County, Ohio, where she had her camera ready to snap a few photos of the event. As she watched, Dawn spotted who was approaching a deputy, working the event, and she quickly captured a picture of the scene when she realized what they were about to do.

A little girl approached a deputy to offer him candy, and since Dawn was utterly shocked by the little girl’s generosity, she snapped a quick photo of the encounter. Her proud husband, Aaron, decided to share the photo to the Facebook page Ohio Going Blue. Now, everyone in the country has been left stunned by the remarkable, moving photo.
“My wife, Dawn McCombs, took this photo today at our Village Christmas Parade in Milford Center in Union County,” Aaron explained. “This was her caption: Blue Lives matter. Sweetest pic of them all, she walked candy over and handed it to the Deputy. Love our small town.”

Members of the Black Lives Matter movement have completely disrespected the men and women in blue across our country. It’s uplifting when children, who are easily affected and influenced by what’s happening around them and seen on television, show our police officers the utmost respect that they deserve.
Although this young girl was merely sharing some candy and kindness with the deputy, she proved that there’s hope for the future and that the next generation does understand the value of respect. Hopefully, our country is on its way to being the honorable nation it was once known to be, where police officers feel safe to do their jobs and are respected once again, and our children will have real heroes to look up to.
