Mom Takes Kids To See Mall Santa, But What Santa Does Has Her Leaving In Tears

A Kentucky mom recently decided to take her kids to her local mall to see Santa Claus. However, the ordinary Christmas-time task would take an unexpected turn while her daughter was sitting on Santa’s lap. The mom soon found herself snapping a quick picture with tears in her eyes after she overheard what Santa was saying to her little girl...

Kelly Jackson recently took her children to the Paducah mall to see Santa Claus. When it was her daughter Lauren’s turn to sit on Santa’s lap, something happened that Kelly had never imagined, causing her to whip out her camera to capture Santa’s face before posting his image to social media and revealing what unfolded that day that she will never forget. She’s informing other parents what this Santa is all about – and it’s going viral for good reason.
In an effort to spread the word, she decided to share her story on the Facebook page for Love What Matters.
“Today we took the kids to the Paducah mall to see Santa. We entered praying that Santa would have a real beard,” Kelly’s post began. “As our 2 littles are on the edge of disbelief. Little did we know that this Santa not only had a real beard but was absolutely magical!”
She recalled her son Elias sitting on the man’s lap first before it was her daughter’s turn. Her daughter suffers from a disability and wears a back brace. “As he picked her up to set her in his big chair with him I realized he noticed she had a back brace and not knowing the exact words I knew he was discussing it with her,” Kelly explained. Then, Kelly was shocked as she realized Santa was showing Lauren what was under his suit – he was showing Lauren that he had a back brace too.
Kelly quickly approached an “elf” to ask, “Does Santa have a back brace?” who responded, “Yes!” confirming her suspicions since she already knew the answer. The situation left Kelly suddenly overcome with the urge to cry as she explained to Santa’s helper that her daughter wears one too.
It was then that Kelly learned just how magical this perfect Santa was. Not only had he uplifted her daughter, but he had helped another child who had a hearing aid, as well as prayed for a family who came in with a baby who had a feeding tube.
“It was MAGICAL!! He could relate to the girl with hearing devices and then could surprisingly relate to a girl with a hidden disability? A back brace? Coincidence? magic? Tomorrow Santa might not have hearing aides and he might not wear a brace, but today he did,” the overjoyed mother explained. “And today he touched some special children, and their parents!”
Without even realizing it, this man was a blessing from God to these kids who needed a little bit of Santa’s Christmas spirit to make them feel how they should feel on Christmas. Even with their disabilities, they aren’t so different after all — even Santa himself relates to their struggles. That’s a moment to remember and share, and it’s no wonder Kelly wanted everyone to know this special Santa’s face.
