This new video showing a young girl singing “You Are My Sunshine” to her foster dog is tugging at the heartstrings on Facebook and beyond.
According to FOX 29, who shared the clip on its Facebook page, the young girl is named Anna and she’s singing to Laila her foster dog as they’re snuggled up in bed.
The dog’s owner has been away for almost a year serving in the navy, and, thanks to PACT for Animals, who runs a military foster program, the pup has a place to rest her head until her owner comes back.
