Local Residents Wake To Strange Occurrence, Capture It On Video For The World To See
By Dreamer

It seems as if every day, nature is presenting a new mystery for us to try and solve. These mysteries expand our mind, proving to us that we can never be too comfortable in life. There will always be something to inspire us and make us contemplate the wonders of the world. While destructive and tragic, hurricanes and tornadoes are one of those many mysteries that have us intrigued, as they are simply a combination of nature’s traits blending together to form something that is far overpowering than humankind. Russia has recently experienced one of these mind-blowing conundrums when hundreds of naturally formed snowballs just showed up on a Siberian beach one day.
The residents managed to capture a video of the snowballs, which ranged in size. Some of the balls were the size of your average tennis ball, while others were as large as three feet wide. The sight is magnificent in photos and on video, so it’s probably a thousand times more incredible in real life.

This rare phenomenon was caused by wind and water, which in turn transformed the tiny pieces of ice into balls. The balls start out as ice, and the wind picks up speed and rolls them around, forming them into giant snowballs. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, it certainly has the residents in shock, as they had never seen such a site before. The actual location of the snowball-covered beach is the village of Nyda, which lies on the Yamal Peninsula just above the Arctic Circle.
“As a rule, first there is a primary natural phenomenon — sludge ice, slob ice. Then comes a combination of the effects of the wind, the lay of the coastline, and the temperature and wind conditions. It can be such an original combination that it results in the formation of balls like these,” said Sergei Lisenkov, press secretary of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute.
In the video below you can see for yourself, how perfect the snowballs appear. It looks as if a team of snowman builders went to work on the beach, as the balls are impeccable…perfectly rounded and lined up, covering eleven miles of the beach. The video also shows several locals, sitting amongst the snowballs, proud of the rare environmental process that took place in their town.
Two other incidents similar to this one occurred in Finland and Lake Michigan in 2015, but the chance of so many snowballs being rolled at one time is still considered rare.
Viewers of the video are concerned that aliens may have went to work rolling these magnificent snowballs…
“Aliens getting ready for a snowball fight?”
And others are sharing their similar experiences…
“We had a very similar thing called ‘snow rollers’ in Saskatchewan Canada. Only seen them once in my life. Very rare.”
Some claim that this isn’t as rare as it appears…
“These show up on this beach EVERY YEAR.”
In any event, the incident is one that is proof of nature’s power and the sight should be appreciated by all who have the opportunity to witness it.
