Employee Instantly Takes Off On Foot When Woman Walks In With A Question
By Dreamer

A salon employee at an Arizona strip mall was going about an average shift one afternoon, when a confused woman walked in and asked a question. The worker’s response was immediate, after she glanced out of the window and was horrified by what the stranger brought to her attention.
Miranda Asadoorian was between cuts and styles this week, when the unnamed passerby asked if the baby on the sidewalk belonged to her. For a split second, Asadoorian thought the woman was joking until she looked outside. Sure enough, there was an infant left alone, sweating it out in the dramatic heat of an Arizona afternoon that was hovering around 100 degrees.

According to KPNX, the 2-month-old little boy was still strapped into his car seat, carelessly left inside a Fry’s grocery store shopping cart on the curb. Not a single parent was in sight to claim him as theirs, so Asadoorian and her co-worker Katie McCulley brought the baby into the salon and called 911.
Firefighters quickly arrived to the scene to assess the infant’s condition, who was determined to be healthy and visibly content. Asadoorian herself was astonished at how pleasant the baby was for having been left alone in such extreme heat. “Cute little baby, very quiet, didn’t cry at all, smiling,” the stylist described of his demeanor.

2-month-old baby found outside
Approximately 40 minutes after the abandoned infant was discovered, his mother returned to the parking lot with two other children in tow, frantically looking for her forgotten infant. Her name was not released, but it was apparent that the mom was distraught by having accidentally left her baby behind in the rush of getting errands done with three small kids, one of which — in addition to the abandoned 2-month-old — was just a year old.
“I just don’t know how you forget a kid though,” Asadoorian said in disbelief of what this baby’s mom had done. “You’re carrying it in your stomach for nine months, you birth it, do all of that and then you forget your kid in a cart?”
Her co-worker sympathized with the new mom, who has a lot on her hands. “It’s just probably a crazy day for that mom,” McCulley said. “I can’t imagine, it’s sad.”
Police have decided not to charge this exhausted mom for now, determining that it was simply a mistake that the woman felt horrible about. It’s now left up to county prosecutors whether to pursue neglect charges or not.
While there are many obvious cases of deliberate neglect, abuse, and deplorable parenting that deserve the fullest extent of punishment a judge can give, this situation seems to be a case of a new mom with three very young kids, having had reached max exhaustion. She’s not deserved of neglect charges that could follow and affect her for years, but something needs to change before this incident is repeated. Next time, it may not be a concerned citizens that finds her child first, and a child neglect case would be the least of her worries.
