Starbucks Employee Repeatedly Ignores Pregnant Woman's Request, Kicks Her Out Of Cafe

A pregnant woman in Arizona who is two weeks away from giving birth says her local Starbucks refused to allow her to use its bathroom unless she purchased something. However, the woman claims that even after she agreed to buy a coffee or food item, she was still denied the bathroom access code, reports the Arizona Republic.
Ilana Scheinker, who lives in north Phoenix, says she asked the barista at a Starbucks on 7th Avenue and Camelback Road for the code and that he informed her she would need to buy something first.
“I said, ‘I’m pregnant, I really have to use the bathroom now,’” Scheinker said.
The barista still denied her request, she claims. Scheinker says she went to get her husband, who reportedly handed the worker his credit card and said, “Charge me for anything.”
The couple says the barista still refused to let her use the restroom, at which point, they say, a woman behind them told him she was going to make a purchase and that he could give her the bathroom code, which she would then pass on to Scheinker.
The barista, yet again, refused, they claim.
And he took things even further, Scheinker says, by ordering them to leave. “Said that we should leave,” she recalled. “Go to Fry’s grocery store and use their bathroom. If we don’t leave, he’s calling the police.”
Scheinker and her husband reportedly followed his instruction and used the bathroom at a local Subway restaurant. The Arizona Republic reportedly followed up with the coffee company and received the following response:
“We failed to meet this customer’s expectations of us, and we have apologized and are working to make it right. This experience is unacceptable and not indicative of the welcoming and respectful service we strive to offer our customers in our store.”
Despite their response, Scheinker says she is boycotting Starbucks and does not see herself returning as a customer.
