Officer Pulls Over 5 Old Ladies For Driving Too Slow, Can’t Stop Laughing At Her Excuse

Many people think speed limits are only there to get you in trouble. But obviously that’s not right. They are everywhere in order to help save a number of lives every year. When drivers obey the speed limits, less accidents occur and more people make it to their destination safely.
When we think of violating speed limits, we always think of driving too fast. But in truth, driving too slow for a certain road, especially highways, can be just as dangerous as a speed fiend. Everyone who has earned their license has made a promise to obey posted speed limits and the other rules of the road. And few people worry about driving too slow.
But for these five old grannies, they were about to learn a valuable lesson about speed and highway safety when they get pulled over by the a State Policeman…
A State Police Officer is sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers. He is not having any luck until he sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH.
He thinks to himself, “This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!”
Because he wants to make sure everyone is safe, he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.
As the young spritely State Police Officer approaches the car, he notices that there are five old ladies — two in the front seat and three in the back – eyes wide and white as ghosts.
The driver, obviously confused, says to him, “Officer, I don’t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?”
“Ma’am,” the officer replies, “You weren’t speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers.”
“Slower than the speed limit?” she asked. No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly… Twenty-Two miles an hour!” the old woman says a bit proudly.
Although he is a young man, the State Police officer has seen a lot during his time on the force, but not this. Trying to contain a chuckle, he explains to her that “22” was the route number, not the speed limit.
A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error. She promises never to make the same mistake again.
“But before I let you go, Ma’am, I have to ask… Is everyone in this car ok? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven’t muttered a single peep this whole time.” the officer asks.
“Oh, they’ll be alright in a minute officer. We just got off Route 119.”
While this good joke has been circulating the internet for some time now, it never fails to get a good laugh.
Did you know why the old ladies were terrified? Be honest, we sure didn’t know where this was going at first.
Good thing those grannies didn’t drive on I-295…
