Mother Surprised At What She Found Under Her Baby’s Hospital Crib As He Slept

Amy Palmer’s 20-month-old son has been staying in the hospital for several stressful days, undergoing treatment to get him well again. However, when she came in to check on him Tuesday morning, she was absolutely floored at what she found under his hospital crib, inches from where her sick baby slept.
The exhausted mother from Pennsylvania has been spending the majority of every day at his bedside, anxiously watching every twist and turn of his treatment and being there for him when he needs her. After days of watching him live in a hospital bed, enduring around the clock care while other toddlers his age enjoy their summer, the mother finally nodded off to sleep late Monday night. When she awoke, she couldn’t believe what had happened while she was resting in the recliner near the baby, when she opened her eyes and got a clear shot under his crib.
According to ABC13, while Amy has been with her son at York Hospital Pediatrics, her husband Andre Palmer has been working around the clock, including three night shifts in a row, to provide for his family and help cover medical bills. The father had just gotten off of work, and instead of going home to get a few short hours of sleep before having to go back to the job, he quietly slipped into his son’s hospital room.
Since there was no place to lay down, Andre grabbed a pillow and slept under his son’s crib, on the cold, hard tile, where Amy found him when she awoke. With tears of gratitude for this incredible man she married, she snapped a photo of him asleep under their sick son in the crib above him. The dad could have gone home, but he opted to sleep on the hospital floor instead, since it meant that he could be by his family’s side.

“This is a picture of a hard-working man dedicated to his family!!” Amy wrote with the picture she shared on social media that has since gone viral. “After working all night third shift, he’s right here with his son who is in the hospital. He’s so tired but he’s here!!”
This is a man who has fully committed to his family, taking his role seriously, which is a refreshing sight to see in a society filled with issues because of fathers who have failed their families. Good dads don’t get enough credit but deserve it when they do a job well done. Andre is an amazing example to his children, who will grow up benefitting from a man like him in their lives. He unconditionally loves them, shows them what hard work looks like, and puts his family’s needs before his own.
