Father Finds Strange Note In Daughter's Backpack, SHOCKED At What It Says To Do

When one man’s wife found a confusing handwritten note in their little girl’s backpack, she took it to her husband in shock. Floored by what it said to do, the dad immediately realized who it was from and couldn’t believe what he was reading, since it could only mean one thing.
The father, who goes by the username IoanaHall on Imgur, said that he and his wife were caught off guard by the note since the handwriting was their daughter’s, but they couldn’t figure out why she was writing the things she was. Then the dad realized how familiar the words were, recalling the one thing he does every day that he didn’t know she was absorbing until now.

Hall takes his daughter to school each day, and not a single morning passes without him reciting the same 17 words to her before she climbs out of the car. His habit of telling her the same thing each day is part of his goal of making her childhood “amazing.” As most parents can relate, he thought that his words went in one ear and out the other, until he found the note that proved how powerful what he says is to her.
“Work Hard. Smile. Stay Weird. Be Nice. Make it a good day. And don’t forget… You’re awesome!” is what he tells his little girl daily, and it’s exactly what she wrote to herself on paper to keep in her backpack to remind herself when she needs the boost. To the 8-year-old, these phrases are more than just words on a piece of paper or dad’s daily advice, she really takes it to heart knowing exactly what her father means by each sentiment, since he’s gone over each one with her at length.
“Work Hard – you can achieve anything if you’re willing to work hard enough for it. If you want it, go get it. No one will do it for you,” he explained in his social media post. “Smile – it not only puts you in a good mood, but brightens the day of those around you. Smiles are contagious… it’s science!”
In telling her to”stay weird” the thoughtful father encourages his daughter to not let other people’s perceptions of her define how she feels about herself. He then explains that “Be Nice” is perhaps the most important on this list and also the simplest one. “It doesn’t matter if you know the person or not; treat them like they’re your best friend, and they’ll never forget how you made them feel,” he said.
“Make it a good day” is to say that the direction of her next 24 hours are is all within her control, no matter the circumstances that surround her. “You have the power to control how you mentally approach each day. Although there will be bad days, don’t dwell on negativity. In fact, forget about it entirely. Focus on the positive and you’ll have a good day, every day,” he wrote in his Imgur post.
“And don’t forget…. You’re awesome! – Confidence is important. After all, you are the culmination of your own thoughts and self-perceptions. If you *think* you’re awesome, then you ARE awesome!” he explained.
The dad didn’t think that his advice was sinking in and was touched to learn how seriously she took it. If more parents raised their children with this simple yet powerful daily reminders, kids and society would benefit greatly from it. This dad is doing it right.
