Boy Sees Poor Kid Go Hungry At Lunch. Days Later, 295 Students AMAZED By What He Does
By Dreamer

It started out as a normal afternoon for third grader, Cayden Taipalus, until he got to the lunchroom. The 8-year-old boy was standing in line when he saw something that sparked a light bulb in his head. The kid in front of Cayden was unable to afford a hot lunch. Cayden was heartbroken over this and went home asking his mom what he could do.
Cayden may be a little guy but his following actions prove that he has quite the big heart. It made him sad seeing kids unable to afford lunch. So, he took it upon himself to put an end to it. He created a project which he called “Pay It Forward: No Kid Goes Hungry.” Through collecting donations and returning bottles and cans for money, Cayden worked to pay off the school’s lunch debt, one tray at a time.
The word spread quickly and it helped Cayden receive even more donations. He’s already paid for almost 300 lunches. Now the other boys and girls can go to school without being scared that they’ll still be hungry after lunch.
His mom, Amber Peters, told ABC News, “I am very proud of my son. He’s only eight years old and to grasp the concept around this is just amazing in my eyes. He has a heart of gold.”
Well, Amber, he’s pretty amazing in all of our eyes too!
As one person mentioned in the Facebook comments, “Instead of buying the latest phone or toy, he did such a wonderful thing. This act is so rare these days. What a great kid!!”
If Cayden is doing such great things like this when he’s only 8, I’m excited to see what he can do when he gets older! We need more people like him, doing good things and making the world a little better place. Small acts of kindness can really go a long way. As Cayden puts it, “A small thing can turn out to be a big thing.”
