Cursing, staying up late, being messy may be signs of intelligence
Do you curse a lot, stay up late, and tend to be messy? Then you may be highly intelligent, according to a Business Insider article that cites three separate studies.
One study found that people who could name the most swear words often scored higher on IQ tests, offering a counterargument to old claims that people who rely on curse words have a limited vocabulary.
A second study found that intelligent people are night owls, and that scientific research has also linked staying up late with higher IQ scores.
Thirdly, another study found that having a messy desk is also a sign of intelligence. The study authors said a messy environment can lead to more creative thinking. Psychological scientist Kathleen Vohs says: “Disorderly environments seem to inspire breaking free of tradition, which can produce fresh insights. Orderly environments, in contrast, encourage convention and playing it safe.”
