19 Ways To Keep Your Bathroom Organized And Clutter Free

There are all kinds of ideas, tricks and tips to make that organizing easier.

Home Organizing by Alejandra.tv

The best head-smacking, “why-didn’t-I-think-of-that-before” organizational tricks start with questioning the way “everybody” does it and the way things are “always” done. Case in point: a shower caddy adapted to hang where it’ll actually help you the most. You can also use this simple trick to hang multiple caddies and double your storage space for a large family or visiting guests.

Shower Curtain Pockets

Pockets on the shower curtain liner! They’re perfect for catching and organization kids’ bath toys or smaller toiletries. You can DIY it by attaching pockets to your liner, or just buy one here. You can also simply hang a shoe organizer in your shower, too.

Washcloth Stand

Save counter space by making and mounting a magnetic storage strip for regular brushes . . .

Mounted Broom Clips For Electric Toothbrushes

. . . using the grip clips designed for brooms to mount electric toothbrushes on the side of your medicine cabinet . . .

Cabinet Toothbrush Notches

. . . or cutting notches in your medicine cabinet shelves to keep your toothbrushes both safe from germs and from falling every time you open the cabinet.

Doubled Shower Rods

When you have a large family using only one bathroom, you can never have enough ways to organize your shower, especially when you throw kids’ tub toys into the mix. One of our favorite ideas is to hang a second tension rod and hang all the baskets you can fit . . .

Hanging Products

. . . or skip the baskets entirely and hang the products directly! Just use clips attached to shower rings.

Mason Jar Storage

When in doubt, organize by going vertical! This mason jar organizer is a classic idea to make use of your wall space and keep cotton swabs, sponges, hair ties, cotton balls, etc. tidy.

Planter Box Organizer

Repurpose a slim planter box to give you organized compartments in even the smallest of spaces.

Floating Shelves

One of the easiest ways to add some organization to any bathroom? Shelving, of course! Floating or vanity shelves are the way to go for keeping everything within easy reach. (Psst— if you’re a fan of floating shelves, we have a whole list about them right here.)

Repurposed Kitchen Cart

Don’t limit yourself to products designated for the bathroom by merchandisers. This Ikea Grundtal cart, for example, was designed for the kitchen, but works super well in the bathroom! Cleaning master Clean My Space loves using carts all over her home.

Oil Bottles

More items to grab from the kitchen? Oil bottles! Use them to hold things like mouthwash with some extra pizzazz, while reducing the space needed by bulkier plastic bottles. Then head back to the kitchen and grab . . .

Wire Food Stands

. . . wire food stands and baskets! Even if they’re designed to hang from the ceiling, you can sit them in your bathroom – or be really innovative and hang them in your bathroom or from the shower curtain rod! – to catch everything from toilet paper to toiletries.

File Baskets

Another room to raid? The office! Hang baskets or folders designed for files, and fill them with things like hand towels and toilet paper for easy, organized access.

Toilet Roll Cord Holder

The number one enemy of bathroom organization just might be power cords. Get them under control and make use of all those toilet paper rolls with this easy upcycling idea.

PVC Pipe Holster

Don’t want to save toilet paper rolls, or simply want something a little more solid and permanent? Mount some PVC pipe on the back of your vanity door or on the wall to hold your curling irons and other hot styling tools.

PVC Pipe Razor Holder

The Family Handyman

Another way you can use that PVC pipe? This DIY razor holder that’ll keep it from falling into the tub every time you shower. Just attach the cut pipe to your existing shower caddy with zip ties.

Under-Sink Lazy Susans And Baskets

Graceful Order via Babble

Don’t let the pipes under your sink thwart your organizational efforts. Use multiple baskets and turntables to corral all those bottles and accessories, and you’ll actually be able to find everything you need whenever you actually need it.
