Baking Soda Has Many Purposes But Did You Know It Could Do This As Well?

Baking soda is well-known as a cleaning agent. Since it is quite cheap and has many applications, it has quickly become very popular. But here are a couple of amazing tricks that you definitely don't know yet.

1. Care for your feet

3 tablespoons of baking soda together with 2 liters of water are the best ingredients for a relaxing and rejuvenating foot bath. It works best if you massage your feet while they are in the water.

2. No more sweating

A little bit of baking soda mixed with some water makes a great deodorant. Applying this mixture under your arms keeps you dry and prevents unpleasant BO.

3. Treat minor ailments

Baking soda is a perfect acid-binding agent: drinking a glass of cold water mixed with 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda can help treat acid-reflux and stomachaches. Of course this is not a long-term solution for chronic ailments for which you should consult a doctor but for acute, one-time aches and pains this is very helpful.

4. Sooth pain from bee stings

Baking soda is a lifesaver when it comes to bee stings and wasp stings. No one knows why yet but there are studies suggesting that baking soda has an alkaline property and thus alleviates the pain caused by burning venom.

5. To remove splitters

Baking soda and water in a 1:1 ratio works great to push foreign bodies like splinters to thesurface of the skin. Try using baking soda instead of tweezers the next time you get a splinter.

6. As support for your shampoo

Baking soda is great when you use it with your shampoo. The mixture cleans better and the baking soda helps remove grease from your hair and treats your hair all the way down to the root.

7. To treat sunburn

A nasty sunburn can quickly ruin your evening after a day out in the sun. To cool down your skin, mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda with lukewarm water, then rub the mixture on your sunburn. When you let it dry, this helps the natural healing process.

Now you are ready for summer. With these great tips, you've got a great weapon against bees, sunburn and sweat.
