Did you know you could easily grow roses from potatoes? Learn how below.
What You’ll Need:
Healthy rose stems Potatoes (Yukon gold, white or yellow, preferably organic) Shovel Gardening shears Screwdriver or nail Sand Potting soil
What You’ll Do:
Dig a hole because first you will need a spot for the new rose bushes. Next, put a thin layer of sand in the bottom of the hole for good drainage, and then potting soil on top.

Now you will cut your stems and they should be healthy and green, about six to eight inches long. Use your shears to make a 45 degree angle cut for the best potential for growth.

Clean them up: take all the leaves and thorns off your stems. They should look like sticks when you’re all done.

Using a screwdriver or nail, make a 2-inch deep hole in the potato and it should be just a bit wider than the rose stem. Now put one rose stem in each potato

Plant the potato roses in the hole you dug in the garden and place them about two to four inches deep. Cover them up, and tamp the soil down.

Take care of your roses by watering them daily, but not too much or they’ll rot. The soil should be just damp. Before you know it, they’ll be sprouting beautiful green leaves!
