He Places 4 Pennies In a Bag And Then Hangs It Up. The Reason Why? This Will Change Summer Forever!

Pennies & Water In A Ziplock Bag

Flies are scared off by what they perceive to be a large body of water and become confused by the reflection of the sunlight hitting the water and the pennies. How to make: Fill a Ziplock bag with water and drop in 4 or 5 pennies, now hang the bag on your porch or from a tree in your garden to keep those buzzing pests away.

Citronella & Coconut Oil

Repel flies with scented oils. Simply mix 20–30 drops of citronella oil into a bowl of 1 1/2 cups of melted coconut oil. Fill the blended mixture into little jars or tins and place around the outdoor area you'd like to have fly-free!

Cotton Balls, Vanilla Extract & Mint

This repellent not only keeps the flies away from food or fresh fruit left out on the kitchen counter, but it smells marvelous! Here's how to make it: In a shallow glass jar, place two cotton balls on the bottom. Now add 4 tablespoons of vanilla extract and top with fresh mint. Lastly cover the whole thing with a piece of cheesecloth.

Vodka & Clove In A Spray Bottle

Here's a DIY bug spray without the use or smell of chemicals. How to make: Fill a small spray bottle with some vodka and a little bit of lavender or clove. Now simply spray in the desired troubled area to keep the insects away!

Apple Cider Vinegar

This repellent is amazing for repelling unwanted gnats AND it's extremely inexpensive! How to make: Simply place apple cider vinegar in a shallow jar or glass. Now cover with plastic wrap and punch small holes on the top of it. Place jars outdoors where you need it to be an invisible barrier from unwanted pests.

Garlic, Cinnamon & Cayenne Pepper Powder

Another natural barrier that'll keep creepy crawlies and flies out of your home is this powdered mixture of garlic powder, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Simply blend the powders and sprinkle around the foundation of your home. Due to the spicey "burning" nature of cayenne pepper, be sure to keep away from your pets and kids.

Essential Oils

This works similar to the vodka spray method, but without the alcohol. Fill a bottle and spray outdoors where you need an invisible force shield to keep bugs at bay.

Old Scratched CDs

Flies don't like reflective surfaces and hanging old CDs around your garden will scare them away. All you have to do now is explain it to curious neighbors and friends.
