She Buys Old Knife Block At The Thrift Store And Made Something AMAZING With It. Her Kids Absolutely Love It!
By Michele

Serena from http://thriftdiving.com/ wrote an amazing blog about how she transformed an old knife block she found at a thrift store into a cool crayon holder for her kids! She grabbed her drill and some tape and was ready to go.
She started by taping her drill about two inches from the tip. Then, she drilled as many slots as would fit right into the top of the knife block, right over the slits that were already there. The tape is so that she knew when she had drilled deep enough, in order to keep all the holes the same depth.

Next she added some colorful tape to add to the fun style of the crayon holder.

She made enough holes to fit 20 crayons and added a coat of paint. The whole thing came together and looked ready to be used!

Next she attached hardware to the sides of the block of wood for more art supplies.

She made one slot on the side for a pair of scissors.the block of wood for more art supplies.

Then, she added metal loops to hold paintbrushes.

This is perfect for kids or in your craft room!
