During last week's freezing temperatures in Tennessee, the Gallatin Police Department (GPD) extended their assistance beyond their official duties to aid a 72-year-old resident.
The story began when the GPD received a distress call from a resident whose heating system had failed.
Sgt. Woodard, determined to help, mobilized a team of officers and reached out to Wayne Counce, a firewood supplier in the community. Despite the usual cost of firewood, Counce selflessly donated it to the cause.
The officers delivered the firewood to the resident's home, ensuring she could stay warm through the cold spell.
