By Mike-Ross

A crossing guard in Maryland is being hailed as a hero after she put her life at danger to save a young child.
Meet Corporal Annette Goodyear of Cecil County, Maryland. One morning, a car came barreling across the crosswalk, and she didn’t hesitate to take the necessary action to protect a little girl trying to cross.
Goodyear grabbed the youngster and pushed her to safety, even though that meant Goodyear wouldn’t have time to save herself.

In the intense security video below, the car strikes Goodyear’s right leg and knocks her to the ground. While the footage is chilling, Goodyear fortunately only suffered minor injuries.
The young girl expresses her sincere gratitude and claims that she truly believes the brave crossing guard saved her life that day. Maryland’s governor Larry Hogan has recognized Goodyear with a governor’s citation for bravery.
