Heartwarming video shows owner and dog reunite after being separated by war in Ukraine

Our hearts continue to go out to the people of Ukraine, who are facing an ongoing military invasion by Russian troops. But even amidst all the death and destruction, there are stories of hope and the kindness of people.
Like one recent story of a dog who went missing amidst the combat, but soon reunited with her owner thanks to the help of a battalion.
Ukrainian forces recently retook Bucha, a city outside the capital Kyiv, which had been invaded by Russian forces. After Russia withdrew from the city, there were reportedly bodies of civilians lining the streets and locals recalled war crimes committed by Russian troops.
While the atrocities have made international headlines, another, more positive story has also gone viral, a reminder that humanity can always be found even in the darkest times.
Volunteers with the Kastus Kalinouski Battalion, a Belarusian battalion fighting for Ukraine, found a lost husky dog in the aftermath of the recapture. She had apparently gotten separated from her owners during the conflict.

The volunteers took the dog with them, hoping to reunite the husky with her owners.
Thankfully, they were able to find the owner: video shows a sweet reunion between the dog and her owner in a parking lot.

The battalion, sharing the video on social media, called the reunion an “emotional moment,” and said it was a “little positivity in these difficult times.”
“As long as some treat people like animals, we are fighting for the lives of not only humans but every animal!” they wrote.
