12 and 14 year old Cousins are tragically killed after playing with firearm on Instagram live: "It went off by mistake"

A horrible accident in St. Louis takes the lives of two young cousins. 12-year-old Paris Harvey and 14-year-old Kuaron Harvey were playing with a gun when it went off twice killing both in the process. The teenage cousins were reportedly recording themselves and live streaming it on Instagram when the shocking incident unfolded around 2 a.m. at the 2 a.m. at South 10th and Spruce streets at the Cupples Station Loft Apartments, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Authorities, who are still investigating last week's deaths, said the 12-year-old girl shot her 14-year-old cousin before shooting herself. The case was initially considered a murder-suicide. What's even more tragic is the fact that Paris' grandmother, Susan Dyson, was watching the Instagram Live video that the two were making in a downtown St. Louis apartment that had been rented by the family to celebrate March birthdays.
"It wasn't a situation where they were arguing or anything like that," she said according to CBS News. "They were playing with the gun when they shouldn't have been. Of course, they shouldn't have been doing it. I think it just went off. It went off by mistake." Meanwhile, the deceased childrens' parents said the two had been raised close and that on a fateful day they had been alone in a bathroom making a video in the mirror before shooting.

Members of the family recalled that after Kuaron was shot, the video showed Paris reaching for the gun and believe that it may have accidentally gone off for the second time. "It was no murder. It wasn't a su****e," noted Paris' mother Shinise Harvey. "It was a freak accident. It happened," she added. It is believed that the gun belonged to Kuaron.
While Shinise hasn't seen the devastating video of her child's death, her family members did describe it to her. The heartbroken mother thinks that the cousins were just "trying to be hip" and tragically lost their lives in the process. The teenagers' families revealed that the two were often seen making videos together and constantly pulling pranks.
While they described Paris as a funny seventh-grader with a beautiful voice, who loved getting her hair and nails done, they noted that Kuaron was a "goofy" eighth-grader who could perform "backflips out of this world." St. Louis Police has since expressed their condolences as they announced the death of the two children. "We are sending our heartfelt condolences to the family," read the Facebook post in part.
