Russian Immigrant Falls In Love And Ties Knot With Ukrainian Soldier - “This Is An Extraordinary Story.”

When Russia started to attack Ukraine, Roman realized what he had to do: Defend his new home against his invading home country. What he didn’t know, however, was that in doing so, he’d meet the love of his life.
But that’s exactly what happened when he met Ksenia in the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade (TRO). The connection they felt was so deep, in fact, that after only a few weeks they decided to get married! This decision was made in part because they’re realized that there’s no way of knowing the “dangers each day will bring.”
And so, with their TRO commander officiating the ceremony, Roman and Ksenia tied the knot in front of their comrades. It was far from a typical wedding, but they still managed to make it a joyous occasion as they sang Ukraine’s national anthem and enjoyed some wine. They even had the opportunity to have a one-day honeymoon at home before returning to fight.
“This is an extraordinary story, worthy of the attention of the world,” their TRO commander said during the ceremony. “A wartime wedding symbolizes that life goes on and does not stop. It continues.”
