Single mom shuts down strangers shaming parents for taking children to the grocery store

We have to be honest, the COVID-19 pandemic has the world more than just a little crazy.
Accomplishing small tasks such as grocery shopping have become challenges that people are trying to avoid – the risk of contracting coronavirus is just too high for some.
Sadly, choices like curbside pick-up, arranging early-hours-of-the-morning delivery times or just not grocery shopping full-stop aren’t convenient for everyone.
For those who are no option but to go to the store and have significant others who are essential workers, or indeed are single parents, this means that sometimes they’re forced to take their children with them.
Those that do have faced criticism from some, less understanding quarters. People can be quick to judge and quicker to react, sadly.

One mom, MaryAnn Fausey Resendez, had the perfect answer to people giving her bad looks when she took her daughter to the store. After putting on their face masks and gloves, MaryAnn proceeded to attach a sign to the back of her daughter’s back that read:
“I am only 5. I can’t stay home alone so I have to buy groceries with mommy … Before you start judging stay back 6 feet.”
MaryAnn who works as a Texas firefighter, tattoo artist and owns her own tattoo and piercing studios, shared the photo of her daughter to social media, along with the caption:
“The sign I made her wear because I just know some ppl will take a picture & talk on social media, not knowing all the facts.”
Other moms were quick to share their own horror stories of having been confronted by judgemental strangers who know nothing about their circumstances past what they can see.
MaryAnn also shared the whole process of how she goes about protecting herself and her daughter in a series of photos, but some people still tried to criticize her in the comments.
