Truck Driver gets overwhelmed with emotion after strangers’ act of kindness amid coronavirus crisis

Right now, hundreds and thousands of people are being forced to stay at home during this coronavirus pandemic, so as many are indoors, there are those who still have to go out, face the world and risk exposure to this virus.
For example, store workers have to leave their families each day to face hundreds of people and potentially risk their own health so everyone is able to get the essential food and medical supplies. And they truly deserve our thanks for that.
But what about the truck drivers who get these supplies and deliver them to stores around the world to keep the shelves well stocked? One family made sure they showed their appreciation for these hard workers and it didn’t go unnoticed.
Trucker Mike Kreisel posted a heartwarming story on his Facebook page describing the moment a family stopped and said: “We wanted to thank you for what you’re doing…you and all the truckers working hard to keep our supply lines open.”

And that wasn’t all they did to show just how grateful they were; their actions left the hard-working trucker with a lump in his throat.
“Coming back from St. Louis this afternoon, pulled off in a rest area to take a break. I noticed a pick up pulled in and parked at the end of the lot. As I climbed back in my semi to leave, I noticed two girls, I’d say around the age of 7-8 years old, climb in the back of the pick up and pull out two cardboard signs they made, ” Mike wrote on Facebook.
“They were jumping around and waving excitingly at every truck that passed by on the interstate.”
‘Despite the turmoil we’ve all had to endure’
Mike said the mom came running toward him waving at him to stop.
He rolled down his window and “with a sincere voice and a smile on her face, she handed me a bag and said, ‘we wanted to thank you for what you’re doing…you and all the truckers working hard to keep our supply lines open. Here’s just a little goodie bag we put together to show our appreciation. Be safe and thank you again!’
“I thanked them and waved to the girls, who were grinning ear to ear and so excited to be doing their part to spread kindness and happiness, despite the turmoil we’ve all had to endure these last few days.

“With a lump in my throat, I cranked the wheel heading back towards the interstate, and noticed dad, putting together more bags and wearing a U.S. Army stocking cap….
“Couldn’t be prouder or more touched than right now….we’re going to make it through this…with love, caring, and that unbreakable American spirit.”
