Cab driver picks up 92-year-old woman, drives her to the bank, then suddenly changes direction
By MarissaRocks

Anyone who preys on the elderly and tries to scam them is someone who has a sick mind. Sadly this sort of mentality has become far too common in society.
Think about it. We work hard everyday to earn a living and someone appears out of nowhere just to try and con us out of our hard-earned money in our old age when we are supposed to be protected. Thinking about these situations can really be heartbreaking.
Thankfully there are heroic people in the world like a man named Rajbir Singh. He picked up a 92-year-old in his cab who had a story that left him no other option but to take her to the police station.
The woman got into his cab and asked Rajbir to take her to the bank so she could withdraw $25,000 to pay the IRS. She explained that she had just received a call from them with instructions.

Rajbir became suspicious of her call and questioned her further, but it would take a lot of work to convince the woman that this was a possible scam. Thankfully this caring taxi driver didn’t give up.
The California cab driver even took a detour to the police station in an attempt to convince the elderly woman not to part with her money.
“I am an honest guy, and these are old people. They need help,” Rajbir, the owner of Roseville Cab, told CNN. “It just made sense.”
The cab driver even stopped his car and persuaded the woman to allow him to call the number so he could question the person requesting this money from her.

“We called this number again and I asked the man, ‘Do you know this lady?’ He said no,” Rajbir said. “I knew something was wrong.”
Eventually the man they called hung up and even blocked the number when he tried to call back but still the elderly woman wasn’t convinced so he was left with no other choice but to take her to the nearest police station to hear it from an officer.
Great citizen award
Thankfully an officer persuaded the woman that she was being scammed and are so grateful to Rajbir for not giving up.
“We love this story because several times throughout, Raj could have just taken his customer to her stop and not worried about her wellbeing,” Roseville police said in the Facebook post. “He took time from his day and had the great forethought to bring the almost-victim to the police station for an official response.”
Roseville police said Singh deserved a “great citizen award” for his actions. They did give him a $50 gift card for being such a good citizen.
Be sure to share this story to pay tribute to this wonderful human being.
