Teacher Opened Up Students Bookbag, Suddenly Two Eyes Spring Out Behind Zipper

Some people live by the rules. They believe that rules help keep the world running smoothly and safely. Others feel that rules are meant to be broken. These rule breakers defy authority and break from the status quo whenever they can. In schools across the country, children from both categories appear every day to learn. But in the second grade at Jefferson Elementary School, one little girl proved that she was not one to follow the rules when she showed up to school with something that left her teacher in shock.
Everything was “normal” in her classroom until teacher Bobbi Nabors noticed something shift. As part of her routine, she checks students’ backpacks for drugs, weapons and other dangerous things.

As she went about her routine search of her students’ backpacks, Bobbi Nabors suddenly found something unusual in one little girl’s bag. She noticed that the bag was strange. She undid the zipper and was met with two eyes peering back at her.
Instead of sending terror through Mrs. Nabors, the eyes were too cute to scare her. The eyes belonged to the little girl’s puppy, who was far too adorable to leave at home alone.
Because the little guy loved Jake her puppy more than anything in the world, she took him to school with her. Mrs. Nabors had failed to notice anything unusual although an animal was in her classroom. But as she checked her second-grade students’ backpacks for illegal activity, she discovered the energetic puppy just waiting to burst out and play.
When Mrs. Nabors confronted the girl about breaking the rules, the second-grader had the ideal response.
“My mom must’ve put him in there.”
Of course, it was her mother! The little girl never would have done something like that.
Instead of reprimanding the girl and making her regret ever breaking the rules, Mrs. Nabor passed the puppy around to every student. Obviously, he became the star of the day.
However, all good things must come to an end. Mrs. Nabors called the girl’s mother who eventually arrived to take Jake back home where he belongs. But the teacher wanted to share the joy of the incident with other people across the country. That’s why she wrote the story for the Love What Matters Facebook page, which proceeded to go viral in a matter of hours.
“Mom was all smiles. How could you not be? She said she’d bring Jake back to visit us all soon! He’s now the poster boy for our upcoming spring book fair, ‘Paws for a Good Book!’”
Although the story might have been simple, it lifted Mrs. Nabors’s spirits so much that she was compelled to share it with the world. Although she does not like when her students break the rules, Jake was just too cute to get mad about. Once she saw his cute eyes peering at her from the girl’s tightly zipped backpack, she knew this was going to be the best day she had at school in a long time.
