A FATHER WHO ENDED HIS SON'S LIFE WITH A BABY WIPE LEARNS HIS FATE ALMOST TWO YEARS LATER

In 2015, Joseph Walsh went through with something unthinkable when he used a baby wipe to suffocate his 7-week-old son.
Now, nearly two years later, he’s finally going to prison for murdering his baby boy in cold blood.
According to PEOPLE, Walsh has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of his son Chance Walsh.
In the seven weeks that baby Chance was alive, he suffered horrified abuse at the hands of his father and mother, Kristen Bury.
Authorities say the parents even kept their baby boy’s body in his crib for an entire week after their abuse finally killed him.

“You beat and brutalized an innocent infant who could not protect himself,” Bury’s mother and Chance’s grandmother, Sally Susina, told Walsh in court, according to NBC. “You are an abomination of mankind and you are a useless waste to society. You deserve much worse than this.”
According to PEOPLE, Chance first went missing in September 2015, but his body was not found until a month later.
Authorities say that Walsh beat Chance and shoved a baby wipe down his throat, suffocating the tiny newborn.
Police believe Walsh went into a drug-induced rage on the night that he killed his son.
According to police, Walsh beat the baby before shoving a baby wipe down his throat. Although he eventually took the wipe out, neither Walsh nor Bury ever even bothered to call 911.
Chance ultimately died after gasping for air for several hours, police say.
As the Bradenton Herald reports, Walsh and Bury actually left the baby’s body in his crib for an entire week before Bury could no longer handle the smell.
The pair then allegedly buried Chance in a remote wooded area before fleeing the state.
Both Walsh and Chance were quickly arrested and charged with first-degree murder and child neglect.
Although Bury reportedly accepted a plea deal at some point, she later committed suicide in jail.
With Bury gone, prosecutors lost their only eyewitness, and video footage that reportedly showed Walsh’s horrific abuse against the baby was later ruled inadmissible in court.
“After evaluating the available evidence, the potential appellate issues and consulting with the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office and the family of Baby Chance ... we are satisfied that justice will be best served with this lengthy prison sentenced,” assistant state attorneys Suzanne O’Donnell and Craig Schaeffer said in an issued statement. “Joseph Walsh will likely die in prison.”
But for Susina and the rest of her family, 45 years in prison still isn’t enough when it comes to Walsh’s actions.
“We honestly wanted the death penalty,” she said. “We’re very old world and we believe eye for an eye. What he did was brutal and horrible.”
