Authorities in California are outraged after a 12-year-old girl’s parents allowed her to have a baby with a grown man.
According to CBS San Francisco Bay Area, 25-year-old Antonio Parra-Rodriguez has been arrested and charged with 13 felony counts of child molestation after an investigation revealed that he had been having a romantic and sexual relationship with an underage girl.
Authorities say the sick relationship began when the girl was just 12 years old, and Parra-Rodriguez eventually got the young girl pregnant.
On February 8, 2017, authorities learned of the twisted relationship when the girl, now a teenager, called police over a domestic dispute with Parra-Rodriguez, the father of her 2-year-old child.
The young mother’s parents, who will not be named to protect the identity of their daughter and her child, reportedly allowed the relationship to unfold.
According to the East Bay Times, the girl was just 12 when the sexual relationship started, while Parra-Rodriguez was already 21.
Authorities say that when the girl fell pregnant, her parents gave her and Parra-Rodriguez their blessing.
The girl’s parents now face charges of accessory, child abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to police.
On top of these disturbing allegations, Parra-Rodriguez is also accused of having sexual contact with yet another girl who was under 14 at the time of the alleged acts, court records show.
If convicted of the many charges against him, Parra-Rodriguez could spend the rest of his life in prison.
While Deputy District Attorney Paul Graves has refused to comment on these allegations, he believes this disturbing case should serve as a reminder of the “tremendous responsibility” parents have to protect their children against predators.
“As a society we cannot tolerate adults who impregnate 12-year-olds and parents who fail to protect their children,” Graves said.
Authorities believe there may be other victims out there, but they cannot say so with certainty.
Concord police is now asking anyone with information on Parra-Rodriguez to call their Special Victims Unit at 925-671-3020.
East Bay Times shared this horrifying story on Facebook, where more than a dozen people in the area expressed their disgust.
“What kind of parents are ok with their 12 yr old daughter being in a relationship, let alone with a 25 yr old "man"?!? Smfh... The "parents" should be charged too, & hopefully that pos gets what coming to him asap in prison,” one person commented.
“Twelve isn't even a teen. Parents encouraged a pedophile to rape their daughter. That is low. The child should be sent to foster care,” another added.
