Local Doctors Are Seeing Kids Get Rushed To The ER After Eating Popular Lunch Snack [video]

When Cheetos decided to launch a spicier product, they hired a marketing team and came up with the name Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. This nomenclature for the spicy cheese snack is “dangerously good” as the packaging said.
But how dangerous? According to family doctors, parents should not let their children – nor themselves – eat one piece of this hot, cheese snack. Why? Because overindulging might land you in the hospital faster than you can put down the bag…

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, as well as other junk food items, include the perfect recipe of salt, saturated fats, and sugar to become extremely addictive, Dr. Kathleen Berchelmann from the St. Louis Children’s Hospital said.
Even people who have great self-control won’t be able to put the bag down. Children on the other hand, will never be able to say ‘no’ to a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos once they’ve tasted them. Give a child a bag of Cheetos and they’ll devour the whole thing before you even notice.
Cheetos aren’t just unhealthy because they’re loaded with fats and salts. While this processed food is certainly not going to extend your life expectancy, it is also bad for consumers because the red hot spices that get ingested can cause damage to the stomach.
The spice used to flavor Cheetos stick inside your gastrointestinal tract. They slowly eat away at the thing lining of your esophagus, stomach, duodenum, and small intestine. When that happens, you and your children will feel pain that is “likely due to the red peppers and spice contained in the snack,” Dr. Glatter explained, who is an emergency physician in New York.
“Food such as beets or red peppers can make stool appear red, however it is not actually blood in the stool,” Dr. Robert Glatter continued.
For anyone who has ever had acid reflux or heartburn, these spices can be a nightmare. Expect to experience and even stronger, negative response in your body after eating Flamin’ Hot Cheeots.
Children, and others, can also experience problems in their stools. Because the junk food is loaded with red dye and food coloring this can stain children’s stools red. This coloring can cause some parents to panic and rush their children to the ER while they don’t really need to.
“So even though we might eat some foods with red food dye in them regularly, our stool doesn’t usually become discolored unless you eat huge amounts of it,” Berchelmann said. “Flamin’ Hot Cheetos is one food that people will eat enormous amounts of and will see a change in their stool.”
If you or your children’s stool changes color, this is a clear indication that you’ve consumed too many Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Your body needs to ingest a lot of red food dye (which is not good for your health) to change the color of your waste.
Remember: Flamin’ Hot Cheetos were engineered to be addictive. The creators found the perfect formula of ingredients to make it near impossible for you to put the bag down. Next time you want to reach for a bag of Cheetos, know that you’re setting yourself up for trouble.
