Her Everyday Household Items Remove Months Of Grease From Her Kitchen Cabinets

Grease stains may go unnoticed if you’re constantly flying from the stove to the refrigerator to the oven, but once you slow down and spend a little time appraising the kitchen, you’ll likely realize that your cabinets look a little dull.

These pesky grease stains can actually damage the wood if they’re left alone for a long time, so you’d better get working immediately! Luckily, Debbie wrote a handy guide for eHow that contains four ‘recipes’ for cutting through that kitchen cabinet grease using everyday items!

Each method is a little more aggressive than the last, so Debbie says to start at the top and then escalate the method as needed.

eHow

The first solution is pretty easy: mix 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap with 2 cups of warm water. Scrub the grease stains with a clean cloth, taking care to go with the grain of the wood. Rinse the cabinets clean with a sponge, and then dry with a towel.

If that first trick didn’t work, sprinkle some baking soda onto a clean, damp cloth. Buff the grease out of the cabinet, and then rinse and dry as before.

eHow

If that still doesn’t work, add some white vinegar to the party! Pour a cup of white vinegar into the Dawn dish soap and water mix. The solution should now be 2 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of Dawn, and 1 cup of white vinegar. By now, you know what to do; grab a clean cloth and get scrubbing!

eHow

And if there’s still some stubborn grease after all that work, it’s time to bring out the most aggressive method yet. Add half a cup of Borax to the cleaning mix you just made.

When you’re finished destroying those grease stains, wipe the cabinets down with some orange oil, lemon oil, or even mineral oil to restore it to its former glory. Now your cabinet doors will be gleaming, just like the rest of your kitchen!
