Mom Rents Redbox Movie, Shocked When She Spots What’s Hidden Inside

After a mother decided to rent a movie from a nearby Redbox, she rushed home to spend the night relaxing in front of her television. However, when she opened up the case, she quickly spotted that there was something hidden inside along with the DVD, and once she realized what it was, she was left in complete disbelief.

The mother, whose name has not been revealed, had rented a copy of Deepwater Horizon at her local Redbox station. After returning home, she was left shocked to discover she had gotten more than just a movie. Completely stunned, she quickly shared what she found with her daughter, Liz, who immediately shared the unexpected discovery on Twitter, and the incident has now gone viral.

The mother had found more than just a DVD inside the case. Remarkably, carefully tucked inside the DVD case was five folded $20 bills and a note. According to The Sun, the note read, “Hello! My name is Marcos. Every month I take $100 that I’d normally spend on myself and give it away to a stranger. This month I decided to change it up and put it in a Redbox DVD. You are the first giveaway of 2017! I just ask that you put the money to good use; if you don’t need it, give it away. If you do need it, keep it.”
The mother and daughter, as well as the rest of the world, have been left stunned by Marcos’ selfless act of kindness. “My mom was just hoping to relax & enjoy a movie, but instead God blessed her with more,” Liz wrote in her tweet. “Marcos whoever you are, God bless you. @redbox”
Remarkably, Marcos’ niece saw the tweet and immediately alerted her uncle that his gesture was going viral. “The internet is a small world! My niece saw your tweet in her feed and sent it to me,” Marcos wrote himself. “Glad I made your mom’s day!”
This story should inspire the rest of us to do something kind for a stranger. Of course, it doesn’t have to involve lots of money – any kind gesture, no matter how small, can go a long way. With the world in disarray, it’s important that we help one another, and there’s nothing more empowering than making someone smile with a simple act of kindness.
