A young mom brutally stabbed her husband’s mistress after discovering that they had met up for a secret rendezvous while she was at the hospital with their gravely ill child.
According to the Manchester Evening News, 18-year-old Natasha Khan stabbed her husband’s mistress, Leah Cryne, also 18, in a park six times.
Authorities say Khan was at the hospital with her infant son, who had been born premature at 24 weeks, when they found out that her husband, Hamza Farid, was secretly meeting up with Cryne.
According to reports, an argument between Khan and Cryne ensued, and Cryne reportedly lashed out at Khan, saying: “I hope your son dies and when he does I’m going to dig him up and spit on him.”
“Watch it - when I see you, God help you,” Khan reportedly retorted.
On April 10, 2015, Khan and Farid were reportedly walking through a park together, when they saw Cryne.
It’s unclear why Khan had been carrying a knife at the time, but she reportedly went into a fit of rage when she saw Cryne and immediately started stabbing her.
“She recalled the defendant coming out of the park with Mr Farid, saw Leah and again made reference that she had slept with him. She took out an implement and began stabbing at her repeatedly. Leah screamed at the defendant to stop and eventually she did - but then told her ‘not to say boo to her again,’” Prosecutor Vanessa Thompson said of Cryne in court.
Cryne has since recovered from her wounds, while Khan was put away behind bars for three years.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Khan’s baby did not survive, which the judge took into account before her sentencing.
“I do accept that you were young and immature and dealing with profound stress at the time. Your sister provides a role model for you and I hope you recognise that in the future,” the judge said in court. “I do accept that your decisions were impacted by your grief.”
