72 Uses For Simple Household Products To Save Money & Avoid Toxins

Many cleaning products available on the market contain harmful toxins.

Prolonged use of these products can cause skin irritation and give off toxic fumes.

Over time, this can lead to allergy-like symptoms and rashes.

Most people think that natural products don’t clean very well, but you’d be surprised at how well they compare to their toxic counterparts.

Best of all, they’re a lot more versatile and cost-effective.  This is where natural household products come in handy.  Not only are they natural and organic, but they are safe to use and they do as good of a job as products sold on the market.

Here are just a few ways to use products you probably already have at home!

1. Castor Oil

Castor oil can be used for so many things! In your home, it keeps away rodents, restores the health of your plants and lubricates kitchen scissors. As a natural beauty product, castor oil strengthens your eyelashes, relieves cracked heels and softens your cuticles. Castor oil also soothes dry and itchy skin, relieves menstrual cramps, helps induce labor and can be used as a laxative.

2. Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is the best natural alternative to chemical products. It cleans glass and mirrors, disinfects your cutting board, brightens your whites, and refreshes your toilet.
Use it internally, pulp and all, to detoxify your body. It can stimulate digestion, relieve sore throats, and boost your immune system. You should also keep fresh lemon juice on hand to reduce wrinkles, shrink pores and disinfect cuts!

3. Castile Soap

Castile Soap is gentle enough for sensitive skin yet powerful enough to kill bad bacteria. Use it as an all-purpose cleaner and dish soap. You can also try it as a body wash, a pet shampoo and as toothpaste. If you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, acne or other skin issue, washing with castile soap may greatly reduce your symptoms.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most versatile items in your home. It’s great for repelling fleas, deodorizing your laundry and cleaning your microwave. Keep it in your washroom to soothe sunburns and treat acne or to use as an aftershave and as a conditioner for your hair. You can even try it as a detox and weight loss tool, a cold and flu remedy and to control high blood pressure.

5. White Vinegar

Vinegar isn’t exactly the first think you’d think as a cleaning product. It can be used to eliminate strong odors like garlic and onions and keep your groceries fresh. It can also be used to polish silverware and for cleaning the windows in your home. Try it to unclog your drain, cure an upset stomach, and soothe bee stings.

6. Coconut Oil

This remarkable oil should also be in stock in your home. You can use it to polish wood, to replace WD-40 and to remove shower scum. Coconut oil is also a great beauty product. Try it as a lip gloss, hair serum and deodorant. A spoonful a day can also help improve thyroid function and reduce migraines.

7. Baking Soda

Last, but not least, is baking soda. It’s a simple way to treat heartburn and relieve diaper rash, and also makes a great deodorant and toothpaste. You can get rid of stuck-on dirt and grime by using it to scrub clean your grill, oven, toilet and tub. You can also bring it along on camping trips to put out fires.

There are so many great alternatives to chemical cleaners. For the sake of your family’s health, give them a try!
