Mom Dashes To Store In Pajamas For Baby Formula. Later, She Finds A Photo Of Herself — On A Stranger's Facebook Page

A woman who was photographed shopping for baby formula in her pajamas is speaking out, calling her judgmental critics “racist.”

According to The Sun, two woman were caught on camera shopping for baby formula at Tesco around 7 p.m.

“Dear Tesco, please can you put a rule in place that people like this will not be served in your stores. It’s bloody disgusting,” Chris Cooke, who took the picture, captioned the photo on Facebook.

One of the women, who is reportedly a traveler, later saw the shocking photo and immediately spoke out in her defense.

“I’m disgusted that a man has taken our picture and put it online asking for Tesco to ban people wearing their pyjamas,” the woman, who asked not to be named, told The Sun. “We are travellers and we feel like it is sexist and racist. It’s an attack on our culture and way of life.”

“I didn’t think there was any harm in me going to Tesco to get a few things at 7pm. I have a young baby and I needed to get him some milk,” she continued. “I’ll be honest, I was kind of hungover and just wanted to get something for my baby and some snacks with my mum.”

The mom went on to say that she felt shamed by the man, who judged her before he even knew her story.

“We had already put our pyjamas on for the evening so didn’t think anything of it, we didn’t think we would be internationally shamed,” she said. “I feel so embarrassed about it, that my picture is everywhere of me in my pyjamas. We were visiting family in Manchester and we just wanted to quickly get a few things.”

Many parents immediately came to the mother’s defense and criticized Cooke for sharing the photo in the first place.

“Many of our customers have told us that they feel uncomfortable when they see other shoppers wearing unsuitable clothing in our stores and we do try to find a balance that everyone is happy wit,” a Tesco spokeswoman said. “Although we don’t have a formal dress code in our stores, we rely on our management team to use their discretion and common sense.”
