Praying Woman Hears Noises Coming From Under Tree, Makes Terrifying Find

A Massachusetts woman had just knelt down in prayer, when only a few minutes into her conversation with God, she was interrupted by a noise off in a distant grove of trees. The unmistakable sounds grew louder, so she rushed to the source to find out what it was. That’s when she realized her prayer time was an answer to someone else’s.
Fox News reports that the prayerful 74-year-old Catholic nun, who did not want to be identified, was inside the Mount Saint Mary’s Abbey in the town of Wrentham on Saturday, when she found herself part of God’s divine intervention. The Cistercian Sister heard a grown man’s crying coming from the wooded area outside that cathedral, but she didn’t expect to find what she did when she stepped out to investigate.

The nun found a man, identified as Douglas Goldman, 200 yards into the woods. He was alone and in desperate need of someone’s help, but the nun felt that she wasn’t the right person for the job. She ran back inside the church to call police, who eventually arrived to save this man’s life. She didn’t realize it at the moment, but he had been trapped out there in freezing conditions for over two hours, before she began a silent pray and heard his cries.
Goldman had ventured out into the forest in search of some wood to cut, when he found the perfect tree to fuel his fire. As he began to chop it down, it fell sooner than expected and in the wrong direction — landing right on top of him and pinning him to the ground, according to the Boston Globe.
Thanks to the nun hearing his pleas for help and God putting her in Goldman’s path, he’s expected to make a full recovery, although healing won’t be quick. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he’s being treated for a leg injury and hypothermia, but he’s thankful to be alive because of this angel who is doing God’s work and going wherever He guides her.
Regardless of whether you’re a nun, religious person of any denomination, or believer in nothing at all; what this woman did was the right thing to do, and something we can all learn from. Each one of us has been created with a sense of duty to help our fellow man, which I believe is a gift from God. It’s amazing what gets accomplished by listening and not ignoring what our “gut” tells us.
