Airman Takes Action When He Sees What Mom & Daughter Are Doing Roadside
By Dreamer

A group of men in the Air Force were heading down the road when they saw a mom with her daughter off to the side. What first looked like a car wreck, they quickly realized was something very different, leading one Airman to jump in and take action after what he witnessed.
Prior to the airmen happening on the scene in rural Great Falls, Montana, a woman driving with her male coworker saw the mother pull over, get out of her car, and climb into the back seat. The initial witnesses didn’t realize what was happening, assuming that there had been a collision. But when they pulled over to see if they could help, they saw that the situation was beyond what they could handle, and they were exceptionally grateful when the airmen soon showed up.

According to Rebecca Houle’s Facebook post on the harrowing ordeal, she and her passenger, Jack, saw a woman pull over into the median before running frantically. Seconds later, she was holding her lifeless little girl, when Jack rushed to them, escorting the mother and her daughter to the grassy side of the road. Rebecca urgently called police as Jack tried to revive the visibly blue toddler.
As this helpless little girl’s life quickly slipped away, a car of men from the Air Force pulled over to help. One of the airmen stepped in to take over the life-saving effort, administering CPR until some of the toddler’s color began to come back, KRTV reported.
“The airman administering CPR was able to revive the toddler and she was breathing but still not moving or opening her eyes,” Rebecca recalled in her post. “After what seemed like an eternity the toddler finally opened her eyes and was moving again. The sigh of relief for everyone involved was unimaginable. This once lifeless toddler is now alive thanks to one stranger’s act of kindness,” she added.
Moments later, emergency responders arrived and rushed the child and her mother to the hospital, where the little girl is expected to make a full recovery, thanks to some off-duty heroes, who left before they could be praised for what they did. Our military members may not always be on the clock, but they are never fully off the job. They are 24/7 heroes, always thinking of what they can do to help, when there is a need.
The airmen weren’t the only godsend that terrifying day, Rebecca and her co-worker also acted with urgency to do everything they could. It was a combination of all the incredible good Samaritans that gave this little girl the chance to live and spared her mother from immense tragedy. No better prepared people could have been there, and their paths crossing with this desperate parent’s was not a coincidence.
