Mom Takes Cute Pics Of Baby, Then Spots Terrifying Detail In Every Shot
By Timfly

A new mom in Arizona, trying to capture each endearing moment of her baby boy’s day, snapped as many photos as she could. When looking back at them later and trying to pick her favorites, she noticed something unusual that appeared in each shot. When she realized what it was, she went into complete panic.
Andrea Temarantz of Scottsdale, Arizona doesn’t want to forget all of her son’s “firsts.” The photos that she took of him when he was just 3-months-old will make sure she never does, but for reasons she probably wishes weren’t part of her son’s story. She noticed that one thing all her photos had in common was a strange white glow on his left eye, which at first she thought was caused by reflection from the camera flash. When the orb-like image continued to appear in other pictures, she knew it wasn’t what she thought.

Andrea Temarantz’s son Ryder
According to 12 News, Temarantz said that unless she took a photo of Ryder, she never noticed anything amiss about her baby in person. His left eye in every photo always appeared as though it has a microscopic flashlight in it. At his 4-month well-child checkup, Temarantz decided to ask her pediatrician about it, and it’s a good thing she did.
Ryder’s doctor took a close look at his eye, then immediately made an appointment for him to get in with a specialist the following day. That’s when the mother heard the news no parent wants to hear about their perfect child. Ryder was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, which is a cancerous tumor in the eye. The white glow that the mother kept seeing in pictures was the result of the flash reflecting off the actual tumor in Ryder’s eye,

Temarantz and her husband Joseph wasted no time getting their son the life-saving treatment he needed, taking him all the way to New York from their home in Arizona to get chemotherapy from a highly trained specialist. Despite all their urgent effort and the best care they could find, Ryder has permanently lost vision in his affected eye.
The family is fortunate that the cancer was caught before it could spread. He’s now in remission, having successfully beat the cancer by treating it before it was too late. The best way to check for this type of cancer is to take photos of yourself or your child with the flash on. Suspicious white glows in one eye and not the other should be something you talk to your doctor about.
The Temarantz’s have learned a valuable lesson in this terrifying ordeal, and now they have a message they feel other parents need to hear. If you sense something is off about your child, get it checked. We’re given a gut instinct as parents and individuals for a reason, and that’s not to be ignored.
