Parents Force Kids To Sleep In Freezing U-Haul Van, But The Horror Doesn't Stop There
By Dreamer

Missouri authorities have taken custody of two children after their younger sibling died when their parents forced them to live inside a U-Haul van.
According to court documents, the couple had been living inside the van with their 9-year-old, sick 3-year-old, and premature newborn for several weeks.
Authorities say the family had been driving through several states in search of food, shelter, and work.
The parents later revealed to authorities that they slept in the van regardless of the weather, despite stopping in states like Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.
Although they initially told police that the U-Haul van was a rental, it had actually been stolen in Colorado.

While heading toward the Dakotas, the family stopped in Lincoln, where they decided to sleep in a garage because their 3-year-old had not been feeling well.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, not long after the stop, their newborn baby passed away unexpectedly.
An order for temporary custody filed on Tuesday revealed that the baby had not seen a doctor since being born early on November 25.
Amy Pappas wishes the family had looked into the People's City Mission before it was too late.
"What we find is people don't seek out homeless shelters because they don't know about them, or there's a stigma," the mission's chief operating officer said Tuesday.
Although the two older children have been taken out of their parents’ custody, no charges have been filed against the couple at this time.
