Deployed Father Is 4,000 Miles Away, Mom Has Clever Way to Bring Them Together
By Dreamer

Ashley and her husband Brandon were young, in love and pregnant with their first child when Brandon was first shipped off to Afghanistan.
It has been 10 years since, but the now seasoned military family is still right in the midst of their journey through life. Brandon has been deployed four times in the past 10 years and has missed the births of three of his four children as a result. Every Christmas he is away the kids are sad, asking if there is any way their dad can home to see what Santa brought them. This year, to soften the blow at Christmas time, Ashley came up with a clever idea to make the family feel whole again.
She coordinated a clever photo shoot with the family and her husband though he is 4,000 miles away.

Ashley and Brandon know that the photo is no replacement for his absence, but it serves as a reminder that even though he’s gone, Brandon is very much a part of the family. The children loved the photo.
“The kids adore him,” she said. “He will do anything for them. So I miss him actually being able to come home at the end of the day and they yell “Daddy!”
Brandon expects to be home sometime in January and the family can not wait to get the reunion they deserve.
