Man Rips Apart Workbench, Finds Hidden Note With Dad’s Secret

A simple remodeling project of dismantling a workbench to rebuild it into something stronger, revealed a note that had been left inside, written by the finder’s father. As soon has he read what his dad had kept hidden for years, the man knew he needed to tell his mother.
The son, who goes by the username ButAnywayHeresWonderwall on Imgur, shared a note that he found from his late father, who died this year at the young age of just 51. He left behind a wife and a note to her he wrote under the workbench, that she never would have seen had the son not decided to take it apart for her.

He described his father as a devoutly religious man who had passed suddenly from a ruptured artery. Sometime before he died, he described his love for his wife in this hidden spot, not knowing how much the words would mean now after his passing.

“I love you Becca. Whatever day this is, I hope it’s a good one. God truly answered my prayers the day he gave me you. I know that these days are the best I’ll ever have, and I’m glad you’re in them,” the love letter written in red began. “I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this, but if you do, just know that I love you very much. If there is one thing I want in life, it is to be as good to you as you are to me. If I can do that, I’ll be the happiest man alive.”
He closed his sweet message to the woman he married so many years earlier, simply by saying, “I love you beautiful wife,” signing his name Mason after it. The secret gesture had been hidden in the bench for her to stumble on by surprise, if she ever had the chance. He had to have known it likely wouldn’t have been found until after his passing some day, proving that his love for his wife transcends beyond the grave.
Having passed without warning and sooner than he expected, I hope Mason told his wife while he was alive, how much he loves and appreciates her. If he wasn’t vocal about those things, then finding this note to her is extra special, but it proves that there’s never a better time than now to let your loved ones know how you feel.
