‘The Walking Dead’ Fans Think They’ve Spotted A Secret Code
By Dreamer

Spoilers from The Walking Dead!
Neither Rick nor Daryl is having a particularly good time this season of The Walking Dead. After seeing Glenn and Abraham killed so brutally, they’ve both endured extra torture at the hands of Negan.
In the first episode, he brought Rick to the brink of cutting his own son’s arm off, and he currently has Daryl imprisoned in his compound, listening to Easy Street on a loop, and reduced to eating dog food. It’s emasculating, and it’s hard to watch.
With all this in mind, when Rick and Daryl came face to face in the most recent episode, it was a sorry sight. They used to be an unstoppable team, and now they’re broken, dejected and feeling weak.

Rick tried to speak to his friend, but Daryl remained silent, following Negan’s orders.
That’s not to say, however, that they didn’t communicate. Eagle-eyed viewers think that, far from struggling with the light, Daryl’s incessant blinking was an attempt to tell Rick something, via Morse Code.
When Daryl and Merle would hunt together, they’d use various hand and eye signals and Carol even taught Daryl a form of Morse Code while they were rescuing Beth. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Daryl would try to communicate with Rick in this way.
We also saw this, which might well have been a clue:

If you accept this theory, then the question remains, what was Daryl trying to say to Rick?
Most people think that he’s trying to convey the location of Negan’s compound, with some people deciphering “six miles east of the Hilltop”.
It’s comforting to think that Rick has some sort of a plan, as at the moment, it looks like he’s just completely surrendered.
