Guy Invites Friends To Dog’s Final Walk, Hundreds Of People Show Up
By Dreamer

If the new M&S Christmas advert didn’t make you a bit weepy, this totally might.
The dog walkers of the internet united today to give an adorable Greyhound called Walnut a beautiful beach walk send off. Walnut’s health has sadly deteriorated significantly in his old age, and it was with a heavy heart that his owner Mark decided he couldn’t let the poor chap suffer any longer.
He’s arranged a trip to the vet for Walnut for today, the 12th of November, but made an appeal online for others to join him for their final walk on the beach. When he made the post to Facebook, I’m sure Mark was just intending to invite family and friends to the final walk – not hundreds of dog walkers who were touched by Walnut’s story.

His story was shared thousands of times, and hundreds of walkers turned out to give Walnut a send off fit for a king – some even driving from across the country to the beach in Newquay.

Walnut enjoyed his last dip in the sea:

And his owner Mark thanked everyone who turned up for their support:

And even more people who wanted to come but couldn’t make it to that particular beach, walked their dogs at exactly 9:30am to show support:

Who’s cutting onions in here, seriously?
