As Americans across the nation travel to be with family and/or welcome the arrival of family members for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Department of Homeland security has issued a fresh terror warning to local police.  A new plan has been uncovered and it's targeting Thanksgiving parades.

Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported this afternoon on a new DHS terror warning to local police departments.

Herridge explained that the four-page DHS intelligence note was sent out to federal, state and local authorities after an ISIS propaganda magazine called for mass casualty attacks using trucks as weapons.

The DHS warning comes after a July attack in which an ISIS-inspired terrorist drove a truck through a crowd in Nice, France, killing 86 people and injuring 400, including many children.
The ISIS propaganda magazine didn’t mention specific targets, but did include images from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, held in New York City each year.

DHS said that “implies” a desire by ISIS to strike high-profile holiday events in the U.S.
Meanwhile, authorities have arrested a Brooklyn man accused of plotting to attack New York’s Times Square by ramming people with a garbage truck.
Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a counter-terrorism expert, said Naji’s arrest is another example of authorities catching suspected terrorists by monitoring their statements online. 

Following up on their October instructions for lone jihadists to conduct knife attacks, the latest  ISIS propaganda magazine offers tactical instructions on how to use a vehicle as a weapon to inflict the greatest damage.

Knowing that moving trucks of all sizes are incredibly easy to obtain and appear innocuous on the road, terrorists will be using these to cause far greater damage.

"Vehicles are like knives, as they are extremely easy to acquire. But unlike knives, which if found in one’s possession can be a cause for suspicion, vehicles arouse absolutely no doubts due to their widespread use throughout the world," states the article in the third issue of Rumiyah, ISIS' recently launched monthly English-language magazine, adding that cars are one of the "safest and easiest" weapons as well as "most successful in harvesting large numbers of the kuffar [disbelievers]."

The method of such an attack is that a vehicle is plunged at a high speed into a large congregation of (non-believers), smashing their bodies with the vehicle’s strong outer frame while advancing forward — crushing their heads, torsos, and limbs under the vehicle’s wheels and chassis — and leaving behind a trail of carnage,” the article said according to The NY Post.

The purpose of this new weapon is to get the biggest truck available since it’s heavier and can crush the most victims in one single plow with a specific target in mind during the Thanksgiving holiday, PJ Media reported.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade was among the various targets noted in the article, with others being political rallies held in the streets and outdoor markets.

BE careful this Thanksgiving if you are attending a parade and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.  If you see something, say something — without holding back out of fear of being politically “incorrect.”  We’re coming up on the year anniversary of the San Bernardino terror attacks that killed 14 people and left 22 seriously injured — just one example where bystanders had “seen something” but declined to report it out of fear of being persecuted given that the suspects were Muslim.
