Every year, nearly 90 kids drown inside the home, and two-thirds of these deaths occur in the bathtub. A child can drown in as little as 2 inches of water, and it can happen quickly and silently. The CPSC has launched a campaign about in-home drowning and says every one of these tragedies is preventable.
Never leave a child alone in the bathtub or near any container of water. Always cover or close washing machines and in-home spas and hot tubs when not in use. Always empty water from sinks, pains, coolers and containers.
