Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the year, how you’ve been blessed, and what you’re thankful for — which for one little girl is not what you would expect. Isabella is thankful for dead people. Why? Because they tried.

When 8-year-old Isabella Jerhigan was asked what she is thankful for, she opted for a brutally honest answer as opposed to the expected responses the other kids gave. Dead people have tried, they were here, gave it their all, and lost the good fight, but at least they tried and that is something Isabella appreciates and is grateful for.
Is the lesson to be learned here through Isabella’s sentiment that one should simply try… or never try since you’re going to end up in the same place regardless?
Either way, Isabella has taught us all the meaning of Thanksgiving, which is there is always something — or someone — to be thankful for, you just need to think a little deeper or more creatively sometimes to see it.
