Parents Find Odd Blue Disk In Halloween Candy, And It’s Disturbing
By Dreamer

Following Halloween, parents across the country found all types of odd things in their children’s bags, but one family in Massachusetts made an extra disturbing find. They pulled out an odd blue disk from the bag, and it’s a good thing they ended up getting it inspected.
The Hopkinton family said that when inspecting their child’s candy on Halloween night, they came across a candy-like disc that was blue, so they immediately called police, reports WBZ. Apparently, several kids in the area received the discs, and when police further analyzed them, they made a surprising discovery.

The blue discs, which could have easily been consumed by a child, were actually a dangerous mix of chlorine, toxins, and chemicals. Someone had been passing out toilet bowl cleaner to the kids, and it has other residents in the area worried.
“I can’t imagine anyone playing that kind of a joke on little kids trying to trick or treat,” said mother Danielle Owens.

A 6-year-old and a 14-year-old also were handed similar tablets while downtown. Now, police are warning Hopkinton families to thoroughly inspect their candy to ensure their children don’t accidentally consume the dangerous chemicals.
Police are still investigating, but are unsure of what the motive may be. However, Owens said they’re hoping to find out that it wasn’t done intentionally.
“The reaction from my friends was we hope it’s an innocent mistake, we hope it was someone who didn’t realize what they were doing,” she said. “It definitely seems like something people will have to be more vigilant, innocent mistake or not.”
While the actual motive isn’t known yet, it’s not uncommon for people to do such things with malicious intentions, which is undoubtedly terrifying if you’re a parent with kids that go trick or treating. As Owens said above, it’s better to err on the side of caution and fully inspect your candy than it is to be careless and risk getting your child sick or, worse yet, having a fatal accident that could have been prevented.
